William Regal voulait embaucher deux lutteurs de la AEW à NXT

Deux jeunes lutteurs de la AEW ont suffisamment impressionné William Regal pour qu’il recommande à la WWE de les embaucher afin qu’ils joignent NXT.

Wheeler Yuta et Daniel Garcia, qui font partie des espoirs de la AEW, avaient également brillé sur la scène indy. Regal, qui était directeur du développement des talents et chef du recrutement à la WWE, a confié à TalkSport qu’il songeait à faire appel à leurs services l’an dernier à NXT.

Mais le changement de cap de la WWE, qui préfère miser sur de jeunes athlètes que des lutteurs déjà établis pour NXT 2.0, a freiné le processus.

Regal est très heureux de constater la progession de Yuta à la AEW, étant son mentor au sein du Blackpool Combat Club.

“They got themselves noticed on COVID. I was going to hire them last year in WWE. I had them and was ready to [sign them], but then a change in philosophy happened. I was going to hire both of them then, I wanted to hire them.

“I’m so happy that whatever he [Yuta] has done, he’s doing an incredible job and now we’re all focused on giving him everything we’ve got so he can get there a lot quicker than we got there. He’s getting good so quick because we can all tell him over the past 20 years what not to do.”
