Lors de la cérémonie du Hall of Fame de la WWE – où furent aussi intronisés The Steiner Brothers, Queen Sharmell, Shad Gaspard (Warrior Award) et Vader, The Undertaker a évidemment volé la vedette.
Intronisé par Vince McMahon lui-même, The Undertaker a été longuement ovationné par la foule, qui a crié notamment “You deserve it”.
Fortement ému par cette vague d’amour, The Undertaker a invité les fans à mieux connaître Mark Calaway, l’homme derrière le personnage. Il a parlé des nombreux sacrifices qu’il a dû faire afin d’avoir pu incarner The Undertaker avec brio pendant 30 ans.
Il a rendu hommage aux fans de la WWE pour leur passion.
The Undertaker a raconté plusieurs anecdotes, notamment sur The Godfather, Brian “Crush” Adams, son grand ami Yokozuna, Kane – qui a incarné son frère – et Paul Bearer. qui a été indispensable à sa carrière.
Il a également remercié chaleureusement Shawn Michaels, Triple H, ses enfants et sa conjointe Michelle McCool.
The Undertaker a quitté en lançant “Never… say… never”, enflammant ainsi la foule quant à un possible dernier match.
