Dans une entrevue avec Renee Paquette, pour son podcast Oral Sessions, Ric Flair a fait preuve de nostalgie en affirmant qu’il aimerait une réunion des Four Horsemen à la AEW.
Flair soutient qu’une réunion avec Arn Anderson et Tully Blanchard – tous deux déjà à la AEW – ainsi que Barry Windham et JJ Dillon susciterait l’intérêt, avec en plus des entrevues réalisées par Tony Schiavone et Jim Ross.
“Let me tell you something. If you’re at AEW and the Four Horsemen get together, everyone in the world watches. You’ve got Arn [Anderson], Tully [Blanchard], Barry [Windham] is sitting about a mile from here, and JJ [Dillon], you fly him in. You do a half-hour interview with [Tony] Schiavone and Jim Ross.”
Flair a par ailleurs ajouté qu’il aimerait retourner dans le ring en tant que lutteur, mais il demanderait en premier à Vince McMahon de pouvoir le faire (à la WWE) car il lui doit cette faveur.
“Get back in the ring and entertain? Absolutely. I would ask [Vince] first because I owe that to him.”
Il a toutefois précisé, dans son entrevue avec Renee Paquette, que ça pourrait être dans un match par équipe. Il suggère par exemple d’être en duo avec Andrade contre Sting et Darby Allin, en étant assuré que Sting serait ravi de participer à un tel match.
“I could be part of a match. I’d be happy doing that. There’s another example, me and Andrade against Sting and Darby. What a great deal that is. The other day they were doing that thing where they were tapping their chests and stuff like that. I can see Sting is having the best time of his life. He’s one of the best guys to ever come along in our business.”
Le dernier match de Flair, qui est âgé de 72 ans, remonte au 12 septembre 2011. Il avait alors perdu contre Sting lors d’un épisode d’Impact Wrestling.
On l’a par ailleurs vu lors du récent événement de la AAA, TripleMania, alors qu’il s’est impliqué physiquement dans le match entre Kenny Omega et Andrade El Idolo.
