Le légendaire annonceur Jim Ross, qui travaille à la AEW depuis les débuts de la compagnie, a démarré une controverse lorsqu’on lui a demandé qui est le meilleur lutteur au monde.
Ross a en effet choisi Randy Orton, qui a tout de même remporté 14 titres mondiaux à la WWE et continue de se démarquer en 2021.
Sur son podcast Grilling JR, Ross a expliqué que c’est bien sûr un choix suggestif, mais il apprécie vraiment le travail d’Orton qui selon lui ne déçoit jamais.
“I don’t think anybody is any better than Randy Orton in the wrestling business. Of course that’s so subjective. I love Randy’s work, although I don’t watch it regularly enough to make a great evaluation, in the last several months that I have tuned in to watch some of Randy’s segments, he doesn’t disappoint. No matter how the creative is packaged to him, he doesn’t disappoint.”
Ross ajoute que les fans de Kenny Omega affirmeront certainement que “The Cleaner” est le meilleur lutteur au moins. Il ne souhaite pas argumenter avec eux car Omega est vraiment bon.
“I’m sure there’s Kenny Omega fans out there that would say Omega is the best wrestler in the world. Some will, and they got the right to their opinion and I’m not going to argue it. Omega is really frickin’ good. In any event, it’s a good time to be a fan. A lot of great talent out there, improving their game, adapting and adding things.”
Chris Jericho a tenu à exprimer à son tour son opinion, soutenant qu’Omega est bel et bien le #1 et que c’est impossible à nier.
“In my opinion @KennyOmegamanX is the best wrestler in the world today. Others may feel differently, but I’ve been in the ring w everybody currently working on top & there’s nobody close. Thats why Kenny is @AEW Champ-the most protected title in the biz. It’s Impossible to argue.”
Omega a répondu aux commentaires élogieux à son endroit. Il en a profité pour insulter Jim Cornette (“bigut cuck”) qui aime le ridiculiser et les fans de la WWE qui s’expriment intensément sur les médias sociaux (“dimwit e-drones”), en plus de taquiner Jim Ross lui-même, qui l’a récemment identifié par erreur en ondes en tant que champion de la WWE.
“Meh. I’d rather believe the bigot cuck, dimwit e-drones, and the guy that thinks I’m the WWE champion.”
