La WWE a pris bien des gens par surprise en dévoilant hier que Bruce Prichard occupera le poste de directeur exécutif de Friday Night Smackdown. Le départ d’Eric Bischoff a toutefois été moins surprenant.
Dave Meltzer a confirmé, sur F4Wonline.com, que l’annonce du départ de Bischoff n’a pas été un grand choc dans les coulisses de la WWE.
Bischoff, qui avait même déménagé à Stanford au Connecticut – où on retrouve les quartiers généraux de la WWE -, en compagnie de sa conjointe, a démontré de la classe en félicitant Prichard sur Twitter. Il soutient que c’est un grand producteur et un bon ami, ajoutant que Prichard aura la chance de travailler avec une équipe merveilleuse.
“Bruce is a great producer, good friend and I am certain he is going to thrive in his position. He’s going to be working with a great team of the most dedicated and hard working people I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know.”
Jean-Paul “Triple H” Levesque a par ailleurs commenté la nomination de Prichard, soutenant qu’il a prouvé sa valeur depuis 40 ans et qu’il fera bouger les choses positivement.
”I don’t know all the details exactly [as to how he got the job]. I’m excited for it. Bruce has been a key figure in this industry over the past 40 years … having Bruce at the helm of SmackDown, he can bring it where it needs to be … He’s going to be making some big moves.”
