Jon Moxley, qui a souvent parler ouvertement des raisons qui l’ont motivé à quitter la WWE pour la All Elite Wrestling, a répondu à une question fort intéressante posée par Screen Geek.
On lui a en effet demandé s’il aurait dû partir plus tôt.
L’ex-Dean Ambrose affirme s’être demandé ce qui serait arrivé s’il avait quitté en septembre 2015, alors qu’il renouvellait son entente avec la WWE. Moxley mentionne qu’il se sentait alors encore à l’aise et qu’il espérait encore de bonnes choses à l’époque.
Moxley croit qu’il est arrivé ce qui devait arriver. Son récent départ est arrivé au bon moment, car la All Elite Wrestling était alors en train de se former.
“That’s an interesting question. I’ve often thought, and wondered, what would have happened if I left in September of 2015, which was when I signed my last contract with WWE. But, at that point, I was still kinda like, still trying to do things their way and I just kinda like… It never occurred to me to leave really back then. It felt like I wasn’t, like I hadn’t completely… I never really bought into their bullshit kind of thing, but I like was trying to be optimistic. Like, be grateful for the opportunity and try to make the most of it and, you know, save money and so forth.
But, I often wonder what would have happened if I had the foresight to just leave back then. I don’t know. It could have been worse, it could have been better, but, ultimately, everything’s supposed to work out how it’s supposed to be. The timing of, like, leaving at just the moment that AEW came into existence and just merging at the same time, that feels like a historical thing that I’m very grateful that it happened. Hopefully, it’s historical. We look back in five years and maybe it didn’t matter at all. But, you know, we’ll find out.”

En entrevue pour WGN News, CM Punk s’est fait demander s’il regardait la All Elite Wrestling à la télévision.
Punk a répondu de manière honnête en affirmant que ce n’est pas le cas car il ne regarde plus de lutte à la télévision (“I do not. I don’t watch wrestling”).
Punk est toutefois heureux que la All Elite Wrestling ait vu le jour, souhaitant un grand succès à la compagnie. Selon lui, ça forcera alors la WWE à être plus créative. Il ajoute que c’est une bonne chose pour les lutteur d’avoir du choix. La compétition éveille la créativité, ce qui est une bonne nouvelle pour les fans car le produit est alors meilleur.
“I think it’s great. Yeah, I wish these guys nothing but success. You know, if they’re successful, it will force WWE to be more creative and it’s always better when there’s not just one place to work. You know, it’s better for the wrestlers, it’s better for the fans. I think competition drives industry, so if there’s only one place in town to work, I think the creatives will be lazy. So, hopefully both companies will push each other and make the product better for the fans.”
