En entrevue pour Metro, Kofi Kingston a affirmé que Vince McMahon est contre l’idée d’un “heel turn” pour The New Day.
Kingston avoue que le duo qu’il forme avec Xavier Woods (jadis un trio avec Big E) a souhaité un changement d’attitude au niveau des personnages, ajoutant que le fait d’être jadis méchant à l’endroit des enfants fut très plaisant (The New Day était “heel” à ses débuts).
“To be honest, we fantasize about (being heels) all the time. I tell people that I had the most fun in my career when I was yelling at children, and threatening to ground children, and threatening children.”
Kingston soutient que McMahon ne voudra jamais, selon lui, que The New Day perde la faveur des fans.
“No, he’s not gonna let us do it! So, it’s a fantasy but I dunno… I don’t think it’ll ever happen again, unfortunately.”
