L’hymne national américain copieusement hué à Elimination Chamber

Lors de l’hymne national américain, au début de l’événement de la WWE Elimination Chamber, la foule de Toronto a hué fortement la chanteuse Elizabeth Irving.

Ce geste a évidemment semé la controverse, notamment au sein de plusieurs fans de lutte américains.

Le commentateur Pat McAfee n’a pas apprécié du tout, dénonçant brièvement la situation durant Elimination Chamber.

“These are the most stacked Elimination Chambers that the WWE has ever had. [It] kinda sucks that it’s in the terrible country of Canada that booed our national anthem to start this entire thing but it’s gonna be a historic night for the WWE on the road to WrestleMania”

Ces huées sont reliées, tout comme lors de matchs de la Ligue nationale de hockey, aux menaces de tarifs douaniers annoncées par le président américain Donald Trump.
