La semaine dernière, plusieurs rapports avaient révélé que c’était presque confirmé que John Cena serait présent au Wrestlemania 37. Cependant, il a déclaré qu’il ne pourra pas assister à cet événement cette année.
Cena a été interviewé par Sports Illustrated où il a discuté de ses prochains projets cinématiques et publicitaires. Au cours de l’entrevue, Cena a expliqué pourquoi il ne pourrait pas assister au Wrestlemania 37 en raison des règles de quarantaine COVID-19. En ce moment, il est à Vancouver pour tourner la série Peacemaker et il doit y rester du moins jusqu’à juillet prochain. S’il devait quitter pour se présenter au Wrestlemania, il devra faire une quarantaine et la production de la série sera arrêtée pendant ce laps de temps.
“Currently, I’m in Vancouver shooting Peacemaker, the series for HBO Max,” Cena says. “Given the quarantine regulations, if I were to leave Canada, upon return I would have to quarantine for another two weeks. Essentially, that would shut production down. Strictly based on the letter of the law right now, there is no logistical way I can be there. We film now until July.”
Cena a continué en blaguant qu’il était devenu ce qu’il méprisait autrefois des autres lutteurs qui n’apparaissaient qu’à temps partiel ou aux plus grands événements.
“What a hypocritical situation,” Cena says with a laugh. “I used to be very open about the fact that part-timers were just that, and here I am at 44 years old and I’ve become what I despise, as they say. That is kind of what it is.”
Cena a révélé qu’il était conscient qu’il allait décevoir beaucoup d’amateurs en ne se présentant pas au Wrestlemania cette année. Cependant, c’est une situation hors de son contrôle.
“It’s very difficult to say because I know it’s going to be disappointing for a lot of people, but according to the letter of regulation right now, there is no mathematical way I can be at WrestleMania this year.”
