Interview intéressante avec Zach Gowen

Vous vous souvenez de Zach Gowen, le lutteur avec une jambe ? Sa jambe gauche avait été amputée à l’âge de huit ans à cause d’un cancer. Celui-ci a récemment accordé une interview avec Wrestle:List sur sa run avec la WWE. L’interview est drôlement intéressante. Gowen nous mentionne, qu’il avait seulement 19 ans à l’époque et Zach trouve qu’il se sentait arrogant, à cause, de son insécurité. Gowen nous mentionne également qu’il n’était pas prêt à avoir cette opportunité que la WWE lui avait donné. Zach avait seulement effectué vingt combats dans sa carrière avant sa signature avec l’empire McMahon. Avec de l’immaturité et de l’insécurité cela lui a crée un ego selon lui.

“I was so completely insecure – the way I acted was to overcompensate for that. And I think that’s where people get that I have an ego from, or I was arrogant, because my actions reflected that. Truth be told, I wasn’t emotionally ready to receive the gift that they were giving me. I was 19 years old and I’d had about 20 matches before the WWE signed me. There were guys there that had been wrestling 10, 15 or 20 years. I didn’t have enough respect for the art form coming into the place. Mixed with immaturity and insecurity and that comes across as an ego.”

Zach a été très impressionnant. La PWI lui avait donné le titre PWI Rookie of the Year et également celui du PWI Most Inspirational Wrestler of the Year en 2003. Un total de douze combats, avec la WWE, contre pas mal des gros noms comme: Brock Lesnar, Mr.McMahon, Big Show et John Cena. Son combat le plus mémorable aura été un No Holds Barred handicap match avec Stéphanie McMahon contre Big Show. Après une intervention de Kurt Angle et Brock Lesnar pendant le combat, Gowen avait gagné son combat, suite à un Moonsault de la troisième corde. Puis pour certain, leur souvenir de Gowen aura été son combat contre Brock Lesnar. Un match sanglant et très violent où Lesnar le détruit totalement. Par la suite, il y avait eu un segment où Zach Gowen était en chaise roulante et Brock l’avait poussé en bas des marches.
