Dax Harwood, de FTR, est certainement un des lutteurs les plus généreux au niveau des entrevues et des commentaires sur son podcast.
Voici quelques affirmations récentes de sa part.
– Harwood adore parler de sa carrière, de même qune celles de Bret Hart et de Stone Cold Steve Austin. Il avoue cependant moins apprécier les commentaires négatifs sur le fait qu’il s’exprime avec authenticité. Il n’aime pas les jeux de politique en coulisses.
– Il avise souvent les jeunes lutteurs de ne pas miser uniquement sur des cascades (plongeons, 450, etc.), afin d’éviter les blessures inutiles. Harwood croit que les fans se soucient du bien-être des lutteurs.
Il mentionne que FTR n’intègre pas toujours de la fantaisie dans ses matchs, car la base est aussi importante. Le duo offre leur âme et leur personnalité, ce qui permet de connecter avec les fans.
«I try to tell the young guys they are going to like your moves and 450s and your dives. I’m not saying don’t do them. Make them like you even more. Then when you do this dive or 450 and might miss, they don’t care about the car crash. They care about your well-being.
That’s what I try to do and Cash as well. Make them care. If you watch my matches, there ain’t nothing fancy about what I do. I can punch, kick, chop you. I can execute the basics and fundamentals very well. Other than that, I have nothing spectacular or super substance to offer the fans. But I can offer my soul, offer my personality, offer myself. They connect with that»
– Harwood rappelle que le contrat qui lie le duo avec la AEW se termine en avril. Oui, l’argent est un facteur à considérer dans leurs décisions pour leurs carrières, mais la famille est aussi importante et c’est très important dans leurs choix.
“I’ve been very transparent for over a year. Our contract comes up in April…Never have I said I am trying to have a bidding war with AEW and WWE,” Harwood said. “Money is great. I like money. It does factor into a decision. But for the first five years of my daughter’s life, I was leaving. All she knew was daddy’s leaving. She didn’t understand the importance of me leaving for a job so she could have the life I didn’t have. She and Maria would take me to the airport and she would cry her eyes out only because she knew daddy was leaving. More importantly than any kind of monetary gain, my decision is for my family.
He continued, “Then after my family comes our legacy. My best friend in the whole entire world knows every single thing about me as a performer and human being. I need to make sure I do him justice with the decision I have to make too. I think what is best for us is to look out for is our legacy. Money is great and awesome. Professional wrestling has done so much for me. I have to do just a little bit for that. We have to keep that in mind too. It took a long time to figure out what we wanted to do. There is zero pens to paper right now for our decision. We know what we want to do. We’ve got all the blessings we need. I think people will realize by next Wednesday on Dynamite they will know what our decision will be.”
– Pour la controverse entourant CM Punk, Harwood rappelle qu’on ne connaît pas toute l’histoire. Jon Moxley a récemment émis des commentaires contre Punk, mais c’est sa vérité.
«Until January all you could hear was from Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez. They are not there. As much as they think, they know the truth; it’s one version of the truth,” he said. “Jon is just as obligated, has his obligation to tell his truth just as I did. It’s crazy that I told my truth and some of my peers got upset with me. Jon is just telling his truth. That’s all. It’s totally okay. His truth correlates with mine.»
FTR affrontera The Gunn Club mercredi prochain, à Dynamite. Une défaite signifierait la fin de leur expérience avec la AEW, mais Lutte.Québec a récemment affirmé (selon des sources crédibles) que le duo demeurera avec la compagnie.
