Dans la foulée du départ de Cody Rhodes de la AEW, sa conjointe Brandi – qui quitte aussi la compagnie – est la cible de nombreuses critiques sur les médias sociaux.
Plusieurs fans n’hésitent par ailleurs pas à applaudir le départ de Brandi.
Wade Keller, de PWTorch, rapporte de son côté que Brandi était détestée dans les coulisses de la AEW.
Il ajoute que Brandi n’était pas perçue comme un atout pour la AEW, que ce soit dans le ring, devant un micro ou en coulisses.
So I’ll just say this. It sounds mean but nobody has anything nice to say about Brandi Rhodes and her disposition or popularity behind the scenes and I’m not saying that with any personal satisfaction or preference for her to be liked or not liked. I’m just telling you when I talk to people, Brandi has not been seen as an asset on camera, in the ring, or behind the scenes. And so that ended up being baggage with Cody because people like Cody, pretty universally like Cody. Even people who say bad things about Cody like Cody if that makes sense.”
Red Velvet s’est portée rapidement à la défense de Brandi Rhodes, soutenant que ce genre de commentaires est à la fois méchant et faux.

Vickie Guerrero soutient que Brandi – qu’elle connaît depuis plus de 10 ans – est un exemple d’intégrité et de professionnalisme.
