Big E devait conserver son titre à Day 1 selon F4WOnline

Alors que Brock Lesnar, ajouté à la dernière minute au combat pour le titre mondial de la WWE, a été couronné à Day 1, Bryan Alvarez soutient que Big E serait bel et bien encore champion si Roman Reigns n’avait pas attrapé la COVID-19.

C’est durant The Bryan and Vinny Show, diffusé par F4WOnline/Wrestling Observer, qu’Alvarez a confirmé la nouvelle. Il a d’ailleurs rappelé que le compte Twitter de FOX a mis en ligne par erreur, dans les résultats de Day 1, indiquait que Big E était le vainqueur sous la photo de Lesnar.

“Going into this show, Big E was coming out the Champion. And so Big E losing the title was a direct result of Roman getting COVID and having to scramble to come up with a new idea.”

Alvarez a par ailleurs avancé – sans être sûr à 100 % – que, selon les échos de coulisses à la WWE, le combat principal de Wrestlemania 38 opposera les deux champions de la compagnie, qui sont actuellement Brock Lesnar et Roman Reigns (champion Universel). Il ne sait toutefois pas si ce serait l’occasion d’unifier les deux titres.

“My presumption [and] I don’t have this 100 percent confirmed. What people have told me they believe is what’s going on here. Here’s the thing with WWE, everybody. When there’s a storyline involving Roman and Brock, the people that know where this is going are Roman, Brock and Vince and probably Paul Heyman and maybe Bruce Prichard. I can talk to 100 people there and 100 of them would tell me, ‘I think this is what’s happening but I don’t know for sure.’ But I think that the idea here is that they are doing champion vs. champion at WrestleMania. Roman would be the SmackDown Champion, Brock would be the Raw Champion. Either a unification match or just champion vs. champion like they do at Survivor Series.”

Alvarez ajoute qu’une histoire était déjà en préparation, avant le retrait de Reigns de Day 1, pour qu’on en arrive à ce résultat, même si Big E l’aurait emporté samedi soir.

“All I know is that Big E was going to leave as champion until all of this happened so that’s what happened.”
