Les téléspectateurs américains qui ont pu voir l’épisode de Straight Up Steve Austin, lundi soir sur USA Network, ont eu toute une surprise à la fin de l’émission.
Après avoir accepté de boire une bière avec Stone Cold Steve Austin, Lynch a renversé la dynamique habituelle et a appliqué un Stunner sur le célèbre animateur.
Un clin d’oeil humoristique, mais également une marque de respect d’Austin à l’endroit de Lynch selon Bully Ray, qui a parlé de ce moment spécial sur son podcast. Il a apprécié le fait qu’Austin et Lynch, malgré le fait qu’ils sont de générations différentes, ont pu réaliser ensemble un épisode fort intéressant, démontrant que les deux stars ont plusieurs points en commun.
“That’s a huge sign of respect,” said Bully Ray. “I’m happy they finally drank that beer together. Despite the fact that there are comparisons [to each other], they both have a very real-life compatible story, be it their journey to the top outside of the ring or inside the ring. So, seeing two generations of wrestlers share that beer together because they have that common bond and journey together, as a fan and as a wrestler, I yearned for that moment … and then I got the icing on top – the stunner. Steve doesn’t do that for just anybody and I don’t think Steve has ever done that for anybody. That’s what will make that a special moment in time.”
