Dans une entrevue pour TMZ Sports, Steve Austin a réagi à l’annonce de la retraite de Daniel Bryan et au dossier des commotions cérébrales.
Selon lui, il n’y a pas d'”épidémies” de commotions cérébrales dans le monde de la lutte, considérant que le problème est plus grave dans la Ligue nationale de football.
Austin croit que dans le cas de Bryan, c’était plutôt son style très physique, adopté par plusieurs lutteurs poids-légers, qui a été néfaste à son état de santé.
“I just think Daniel Bryan worked a very physical cruiserweight style and finally, after everything he did, it kinda took it out of him. I don’t think it’s going to be an epidemic…Over the past 20 years, there’s only been a couple guys that had to bow out with concussions. Daniel worked his ass off and he was a hard worker, and his style finally caught up with him. It is what it is but I don’t think it’s an epidemic.”

Becky Lynch a mentionné, en entrevue pour Press Enterprise, que selon elle, des Divas participeront un jour au combat principal de Wrestlemania.
Lynch fait le parallèle avec Bayley et Sasha Banks, qui ont lutté dans le “main event” d’un événement de NXT car elles ont le talent pour le faire. Elle ajoute que Ronda Rousey et Holly Holm ont prouvé, en MMA, que les femmes peuvent très bien être en tête d’affiche.
“I think so. I don’t see a single reason why not. What Bayley and Sasha did, they weren’t the main event because of a movement or because it was cool. It was because they’re that good. No one else could follow them. That’s what we’re moving to. It’s pure equality as long as you’re that good and you’re that much of a draw, I think you have every right to be the main event. Look at Ronda Rousey and I guess now Holly Holm. It’s a new time and it’s great to be part of it.”
