Le prestigieux dictionnaire Oxford vient d’annoncer que le mot “kayfabe” vient d’être ajouté aux mots qui font l’objet de définitions.
Rappelons que ce mot définit le fait de donner l’illusion que les combats (et l’action en général) ne sont pas “arrangés”.
Voici la définition d’Oxford:
“Probably not familiar to those outside the world of pro wrestling, the term kayfabe refers to ‘the fact or convention of presenting staged performances as genuine or authentic’. The origin of the word is uncertain, although it is often said to have arisen in American travelling carnivals. The word has been interpreted by some as being an alteration of ‘be fake’ backwards, while the -ay- element is typical of the way words are formed in Pig Latin.”

Les fans de NXT connaissent déjà l’annnceur Rich Brennan.
La WWE est réellement impressionnée par son talent, ce qui lui a valu une promotion en tant qu’annonceur à Smackdown.
Il remplace ainsi Tom Philips. Quant à Jerry Lawler et Jimmy Uso, ils demeurent en place.
Brennan est un ancien journaliste sportif de Houston. Il a signé avec la WWE au printemps. On l’a vu auparavant au sein de la compagnie Reality of Wrestling, dirigée par Booker T.
On ne sait toutefois pas s’il demeurera également annonceur à NXT.
