Sami Callihan, qui a vaincu Brian Cage pour devenir le nouveau champion d’Impact Wrestling, a confié en entrevue avec le podcast WINCLY qu’il souhaite contribuer à la relance de l’ex-TNA.
Callihan a confirmé qu’il est sous contrat avec la compagnie jusqu’en décembre 2020, ajoutant ne pas se soucier de cette date pour le moment. Il veut faire partie de ceux qui sauveront Impact Wrestling, croyant que c’est déjà en cours.
“I’m signed with Impact Wrestling until next December [2020] but that’s not on my mind right now. My mind is being one of the full forces behind saving Impact Wrestling and I think they’ve done that.”
Callihan ajoute que bien des gens soutiennent qu’Impact Wrestling a la couenne dure, rappelant que la compagnie a vécu de bien mauvais moments. Mais il soutient qu’Impact Wrestling est maintenant une vraie alternative dans le monde de la lutte professionnelle.
“I think everyone’s coined this term that Impact Wrestling is hard to kill. We’re not gonna insult anyone’s intelligence by looking back at the past and saying the past was good. No, there was a lot in the past and this company was in sh*t shape. I think over the past few years between management and the roster that has a chip on their shoulder, we went out there and kicked the door down and showed Impact is a true alternative in pro wrestling.”
Callihan confie qu’il veut être associé pour toujours à Impact Wrestling, voulant prouver que cette compagnie mérite le succès.
Par ailleurs, le champion mentionne que Cage mérite un combat revanche, en précisant qu’il aimerait lui “botter le derrière” encore une fois.
On peut certainement anticiper que Tessa Blanchard sera aussi de nouveau sur son chemin…
