Plusieurs nouvelles ont été véhiculées lors de la conférence de presse de Wrestlemania 37. Cette fois-ci, c’est Roman Reigns qui s’est confié à TMZ.
Jon Jones
Nous vous parlions récemment de Jon Jones et de son rêve de faire le saut à la WWE un jour. Roman Reigns y va d’une petite confession et d’un avertissement envers celui-ci. Il dit que Jones a tout pour faire la WWE mais que ce sport et ses horaires sont loin d’être ceux de la UFC.
“Oh, he’s definitely got tools, there’s no doubt, he’s a bad man, no doubt. But, obviously what we do is a little bit different than in the Octagon, and it’s going to be a different travel schedule, and different demands, but I definitely think he’s got a great name, he’s got a great work ethic, and he had a huge career, and still going, in MMA. So, I would absolutely say, keep your eye on the ball or now, Jon. Don’t worry about WWE. But I definitely think there could be a future for him if he can put in the time, and transition and develop the skills that we use.”
TMZ lui a demandé s’il était question d’un possible combat entre lui et Jones, le jour où Jon Jones ferait la transition des combats ultimes vers la lutte. Reigns répond que oui.
“Oh, for sure. Someone like Jon Jones, if you’re going to step in the WWE ring, you’re most likely going to want to be in there with The Big Dog,”
Cependant, Becky Lynch, qui était sur place aussi, déclare que Jon Jones ne serait pas prêt pour cette transition. Dans le même sens que Roman Reigns, elle dit que les horaires ne sont vraiment pas les mêmes qu’à la UFC. Et elle espère que ce n’est pas pour faire facilement de l’argent.
“If [Jones] loves it like I do, well, then come along. I’ll show you the ropes. But if he doesn’t, if he just wants to make some easy money, this ain’t the way to do it.”
Simone Johnson
Cette fois-ci, les reporters de TMZ l’ont questionné à propos de Simone Johnson, la fille aînée de Dwayne Johnson. Ils lui ont demandé si la première lutteuse de 4e génération devrait utiliser le “People’s Elbow”. Roman Reigns répond en disant qu’elle devrait plutôt avoir son propre style et sa propre personnalité.
“If I were to give her some advice, I’d say try to develop your own personality and develop your own shtick, your own character. I mean, we can do anything we want. I could’ve been The Savage from the Island of Samoa if I wanted to, but I developed a different character and I went a different route, and I’m still able to pay that homage to my heritage, and our lineage, and represent our family the same, but I think just for her own experience, it’s better to create your stuff, you know what I mean? And she’ll have such a stronger tie to it, it’ll mean so much more to her, and she’ll feel so much more accomplished if she develops that on her own, and she’ll have plenty of time.”
TMZ a aussi demandé à Reigns ce qu’il pensait de la corpulence de Simone. Il dit qu’elle a une bonne silhouette et que ça fait partie de leur lignée.
“Oh, good genetics. Hey, we come from a strong bloodline, brother. No doubt about that. She’s going to be in great shape.”
Becky Lynch s’est permise de dire un mot pour la fille de Dwayne. Elle l’avise également d’avoir sa propre personnalité, en plus de travailler fort pour réaliser son rêve ultime.
“Work as hard as you possibly can. Work harder than everybody else. The thing is, there’s going to be a lot of pressure on her. There’s big shoes to fill. She’s going to feel that, she’s going to know that everybody expects a lot more from her, and that she’s going to be under a lot more criticism than everybody else. She doesn’t get that chance, that slack-line, that other people might get. But I think she’s up for the challenge and I think that really tests you, that makes you into the woman that you want to be, and to be a champion, and whenever she’s ready I’ll be holding down the fort.”
Et elle lance en blague qu’elle serait prête à l’affronter n’importe quand.
“I’ll still be holding onto this whenever she’s ready, in 5 years from here.”
