Sur son Podcast, l’annonceur Jim Ross a discuté avec Dave Meltzer, du Wrestling Observer Newsletter, sur la possibilité de voir Kenny Omega joindre la WWE en 2018.
Meltzer a souligné que bien qu’Omega vive actuellement de très beaux moments au sein de New Japan Pro Wrestling, bien des choses peuvent survenir d’ici la fin de l’année. Si New Japan ne réussit pas à s’imposer aux États-Unis, Omega – qui a été récemment couronné en tant que premier IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion – pourrait vouloir tenter sa chance à la WWE.
“Kenny is very different, and you gotta remember he’s having the time of his life too. He doesn’t have to go [to WWE] ever, but at some point will he go? This is a real tough question, and he probably couldn’t even give you an answer because it really depends on the lay of the land, because if he is the top guy as New Japan goes international and they build everything around him and he’s the guy, I don’t think he’s gonna be so apt to leave the spot as the guy. If the New Japan thing fizzles in the United States and there’s frustration, then I think he’d be really open to going because I think he could be the guy in WWE, or if not one of the top three guys. Kenny’s contract will be up at the end of January, and I know he’s leaning towards staying another year [in New Japan].”
Plusieurs observateurs s’attendaient à voir Omega faire partie du Royal Rumble en janvier dernier. Mais il n’est pas trop tard pour qu’Omega surprenne les fans de lutte dans un avenir rapproché, d’autant plus qu’un de ses rêves est d’affronter AJ Styles à Wrestlemania…

Les rumeurs sur un retour de Kurt Angle en tant que lutteur à la WWE se font moins persistantes… du moins pour cet été.
Selon Cageside Seats, la WWE ne planifie pas de match pour Angle dans un avenir rapproché. Plusieurs observateurs spéculaient sur un éventuel duel entre Angle et Triple H à Summerslam.
Angle sera probablement aux côtés de son “fils” Jason Jordan lors de cet événement.
