“Switchblade” Jay White, qui a surpris bien des fans de New Japan Pro Wrestling en décrochant le titre poids-lourds IWGP – détenu auparavant par Hiroshi Tanahashi -, a affirmé en conférence de presse qu’il est prêt à porter la compagnie vers de nouveaux sommets.

Soutenant – en mode storyline – qu’il n’a rien à foutre de l’opinion des fans, le lutteur originaire de Nouvelle-Zélande croit que son règne de champion permettra à New Japan de poursuivre avec succès sa percée en Amérique du Nord.

“Just having me at the helm, that’s going to make this company expand as it is. My image, me standing there with this belt is money in itself. I am the hottest asset in all of Pro-Wrestling and including sports entertainment as well.”

White défendra son titre contre le gagnant du tournoi New Japan Cup, qui aura lieu en mars. Ce match aura lieu le 6 avril, au Madison Square Garden de New York durant l’événement G1 Supercard.
