James Storm a eu du succès à la TNA, maintenant appelée la GFW, ayant remporté en autre les titres par équipe avec Bobby Roode ou bien le titre mondial de la TNA. Beaucoup de fans espéraient le voir, un jour, à la WWE. Le jour est arrivé et cela fut assez court. Il aura effectué deux combats à NXT pour finalement décider de ne pas signer avec la fédération de McMahon. James a décidé de continuer sa carrière où il a connu succès, la TNA. Storm a été interviewé par Sporting News par rapport à sa décision.
“With the schedule of NXT and he was telling me we’re going to try and run 100-120 shows from here on out throughout the year and stuff,” Storm said. “It’s all great and everything but where I was, personally, in my life, I couldn’t be on the road that much because I had some family problems, my wife wanted to have another kid. So, it was one of those things where it wasn’t the right timing for me. Hunter straight up told me, ‘Go get your life together. This is my number. Maybe in two years, we can do business again.’”

Mardi soir, à Smackdown, Lana a participé à un match par équipe avec Tamina contre Becky Lynch et Charlotte Flair. Durant le combat, des fans ont commencé à chanter ”you can’t wrestle” à Lana. La Ravishing Rusian n’a pas apprécié ce qu’elle a entendu, puisque la lutteuse en a profité pour écrire son mécontentement sur Twitter.
